Feb. 24 Issue I Turbo Cola I Remote Work Reconnects Michigan Families I Mill Pond Natural Area We've recently been highlighting the talented filmmakers and creators whose work was being featured during the annual Central Michigan International Film Festival. This week our final festival spotlight is on Brandon Keeton and Luke Covert, the creators of the comedy film "Turbo Cola" which takes place in Central Michigan. We also spoke with the Binder family about their move back to rural mid-Michigan to be closer to family and how remote work opportunities made that possible. Hear about their experience and from local realtors about the increase in people looking to relocate to rural areas. Mt. Pleasant residents will soon be able to enjoy a new natural area within city limits as the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy recently bought its first urban natural preserve. Named Mill Pond Natural Area – Walter & Frances Bolle Preserve due to its historic features and the original owners, the preserve is located along the Chippewa River near Chipp-A-Waters Park. This year, a filmmaking duo from Pennsylvania made the journey to Mt. Pleasant to premiere their comedy film set in mid-Michigan. Chippewa Watershed Conservancy acquires its first urban natural area   Residents within the city of Mt. Pleasant will now have the opportunity to enjoy a natural preserve within city limits following the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy's most recent purchase of property along the Chippewa River.
